Weeks after Hurricane María devastated Puerto Rico, a lonely middle-aged man finds himself obsessing with his neighbor, a young closeted and tormented athlete who insistently pursues his attention. The movie deals with fragility issues of living in a forgotten paradise, in the world's oldest colony, still half-torn, half-supported, with half-citizens, half-gods, and half-demons.
A non-binary person, who is positive to COVID19, navigates through issues surrounding the pandemic so that they are able to attend a concert where the only survivor of their family plays the cello.
Director Statement:
Letra (Letter) is loosely inspired by "The Scarlett Letter". Even though it should be a science-fiction project, sadly the only science-fiction element within the movie is the sound effect that the scanner produces at the box office of a theater entrance.
